Our training doesn't end with apprenticeship. We offer extended training programs to keep our members abreast of the latest and greatest in the field. 

In addition to classes designed to keep members up-to-date, we offer a number of certifications to expand your professional repertoire, including:

OSHA Training, First Aid, CPR, Lift Training, Pre-action & Dry Systems, Blaze Master/Lubrizol CPVC Training, Victaulic Vortex System, Copper Solder & Brazing, Hanging & Bracing, Fire Pump Repacking & Rebuild, NFPA 25, Forklift Safety, Architectural Plan Reading, Dry Systems in Refrigerated Spaces, Fall Protection, and Fire Pump Testing.

CPR & First Aid – these classes will be scheduled as needed. Class sizes limited to 12. Please call the JAC office to be put on a list. Once we have 6 members signed up, we will schedule the class. 

September 2017

  • OSHA 30 Hour – Classes are Wednesday Nights 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm for 8 weeks. The dates are September 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, & 8th, 2017. The OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training course is a comprehensive safety program designed for anyone involved in the construction industry. You must attend all 8 nights to receive the 30 hour certificate.  (We Have Space for 15 Members in this class)

October 2017

 

  • Dry Systems in Refrigerated Spaces – this class is scheduled for Wednesday October 4th 2017 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will cover the basics of Dry Systems in refrigerated spaces.
  • Reliable Sprinkler Co. Dry Valves –this class is scheduled for Wednesday October 11th from   5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  We will cover the basic set up & trip test of both the new Dry Valves.
  • Fire Pump Repacking – this class is scheduled for Thursday October 12th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will cover Fire Pump Repacking of the horizontal spilt case pumps. (Class is Limited to 8 members)
  • Trimble Total Robotic Station Layout (3 nights) – this class is scheduled for Monday October 23rd, Tuesday October 24th & Monday October 30th 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will cover the set up and use of the Total Robotic Station as used for layout of fire protection systems. This class is limited to 8 people. Basic Computer skills are required.

November 2017

  • Fire Pump Testing Thursday November 2nd @ 5:00 p.m. (Class size 15 members) this class is a refresher on Fire pump testing procedures and safety requirements.
  • NFPA 25 California Edition (2 nights) - this class is scheduled for Thursday’s November 9th & 16th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class covers the NFPA 25 2013 California Edition ITM for water based fire protection systems. We will be using the electronic book version through our online access.

  • UA Customer Service Class (two nights) this class is scheduled for Thursdays November 9th & 16th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will help develop the skills needed in various circumstances on the job when doing repairs directly for the end user.  May also be useful for newer Foreman in dealing with property owners or contractors.

  • Forklift Training – Class is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29th  from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will cover the basic safe operation of fork lifts. If remediation is needed we will schedule additional night of Wednesday December 6th.

December 2017

  • Scissor & Boom Lift Training- Class is scheduled for Wednesday December 13 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This class will cover the basic safe operation of Arial Platforms class room and practical. If remediation is needed we will schedule additional night of Wednesday December 20.

  • Trimble Total Robotic Station Layout (3 nights) – this class is scheduled for Monday December 11th, Tuesday December 12th, Monday 18th from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. January 2018

  • CPVC Certification Class (1 night) – Class scheduled for Wednesday January 10th 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. This Class is designed to give you the proper methods of Solvent Cementing CPVC Pipe together and best practices of installation.
